Motorcycle Repair: motorcycle repair, 1985 honda cr125, piston rod

Question
I have a 1985 honda cr125 and I need to change the bearing on the piston rod. Can you tell me how to remove the piston rod from the cam shaft so I can change the bearing. Also when I got the bike the piston and head were all pitted up from part of the bearing getting up in there. I took my dremel and ground down the piston and head smooth agian. Will that affect the power the bike has or do I need to replace the piston and head. I got the bike running after I ground the piston and head and it acted like it froze up. I took it apart agian and thats when I noticed the piston rod bearing was all broken up and chunks of it were what caused it to lock up. So I tore the motor down completly to change the bearing but cant remove the piston rod. And if at all possible if you have a diagram showing how the motor goes back together could you email it to me.  thank you.  Ron Wall

Answer
Hey ron.if you were in ny i say drop off the crank.I that that you need to give it to someone who has done a few.The end bearings have to be taken off and the the journal pin has to be pressed out and then the journals have to be split and then it has to be all pressed together in the reverse order, and all while keeping it indexed.when you are done pressing it has to be trued and balanced in a stand.if it is not the motor might not and and if it does it will vibrate apart literally. If you are going to send the crank out i recommend www.mrcrankshaft.com,I have been looking to see if i could find a web site for a link to get the diagrams you need but they dont go back that far try a dealer that has been in buisness and they should have a service manaual to photocopy or if you want a whole manual they can sell you a CLYMER manual that will tell you everything.I am glad that i could help and sorry no one has answered this for you sooner,
