Mike, they took it in shop 20 min. later brought it back out, never said what it was only factory error.
Thats all thats all that was said. Are you talking about the pick up where the wire goes into the tranny on top? Otherhave said it is not that it is the wire going to pick up an HD defect ????? Who knows trying to do a home fix!
Hey Mike hows it going bro ? Have a problem wuth my FLHR 1998, started right off show floor within two blocks. Speedo quit working all together turned around took it back 2 hrs later back on road. done this a few times byt started wroking again now its stopped all together again after all this time. some say replace speedo another friend said he replaced a wire from tranny to plug in under tank and fixed his. Also whe this happened, fuel gage stopped working.Fuel gage minor can replace but want to save some bucks tight right now$$$$$ ! lol Any help would be great.

When if quit the first time what did they replace? It sounds like a bad pickup int he tranny.

AnswerFirst, check to make sure you have power going to the speedo. If you do then you can have the speedo tested at a dealer to make sure its good. If its good then the pickup or wire is bad. the pickup and wire are all one piece.
