Motorcycle Repair: turn signals, custom bike shop, halogen bulb

Question
I am replacing my turn signals on a 1996 Heritage special FLSTN with a pro one turn signal bar the problem I am having is the lights don't flash when I have a signal on. They work with the old lights connected. The pro one turn signal bar is halogen bulb is that a problem with the rear being filament and is there anything that can help?

Answer
You need what's called a turn signal load equalizer.  Badlands, Kuryakyn, and others make them.  They come with installation instructions.  Anytime you change to halogen or LED lights there's a chance that you need an equalizer.  Most good brand lights come with one or tell you that you might need one.  Any reputable custom bike shop or Harley dealer should have them or can order one for you.
