Motorcycle Repair: 50cc motor bike leaking fuel, 2stroke, float valve

Question
hello, i just got my fist motor bike, 50cc 2stroke and after about a week of riding it started leaking fuel pritty rapidly. From what i can tell its leaking from a air vale. since i don't no much about bikes i dont no what its called but after the fuel filter it goes down next to the engin (carburetor i think) and under the carburetor theres a air tube that leads to Know where, thats where its leaking do u no how i can fix this. thanks mark

Answer
Hi Mark.

That hose is an overflow line.  If the floats stick open or if the seals fail, the fuel flows out of there to let you know that there is a problem.

Get the repair manual for the bike and check the carb for a cracked float valve seal or a failed float.

Good luck and ride safe.
