Motorcycle Repair: Spray can straw went into cylinder, fogging oil, timing components

Question
Hello, while putting my bike into storage, I was spraying some fogging oil into the cylinder and the little red straw shot down into the cylinder, and I can't see it. Is there any way to to fish it out through the spark plug hole without causing any damage? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Dominic.
WOW.  That is a real headscratcher of a question.  The only thing that I can think to do in a case like that is to open the side of the crankcase which has the timing components in it and, using a wrench, slowly (very slowly) turning the crank, with a small penlight shining into the plug hole til you see it.  I would suggest getting a second person to help with this.  Once you can see the tube, try to grab it with a mechanics grabber tool (the cable tool with the little grapple on it).

Outside of that, I don't see any other way to do it without removing the upper head.

Good luck and ride safe.
