Motorcycle Repair: 97 GSXR electrical problem?, gixxer 750, friction discs

Question
I tried disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it but it didn't do anything. It's acting like it's heating up really hot? but what would be throwing the oil pressure light?

-----Question-----
I have a '97 gixxer 750 and I replaced the friction discs yesterday I also replaced the gasket and switched to synthetic oil. Now I tried riding the bike after all of this and the oil light came on and about 2 blocks on the bike it read 240 degrees  I've pulled all the plastics off and I can't find any unplugged sensors or anything of that sort. I've also disconnected the oil pressure sensor and reconnected it. I can't seem to find out what the problem is any help would be very appreciated
-----Answer-----
try turning the ignition switch to the on position then disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes then turn ignition switch off and reconnect the battery and let me know ok.

Answer
sounds like maybe an oil punp problem .do you hear any tapping of the valves if so ,then definitely u are overheating ,and could cause permanent damage to the bike.or maybe you crossed up the temp sensor with the oil pump sensor, chk it out i will research for you ok.
