Motorcycle Repair: ct70, secondary coils, wiring diagrams

Question
I have a ct70,1970, that I received from my dad.
It was in need of a new carb and some TLC. The bike ran about 8 years ago.
Installed a new carb, and it popped a few times and then had minimal spark.
Changed plug, new capacitor, points primary and secondary coils. Replaced coil new plug, and spark plug connector. Still no spark. Engine popped a few times, and then there was very dull spark.
I read previously to check the key assembly ground, that it's where the ignition system grounds.

Is that one lead on the key assemby(inside the frame) and checking continuity on to frame ground?
Is that the correct way? Or how do I bypass the key completely.
I checked the ground from frame to engine, it's OK. I've been at this off and on now for a few months.

Answer
Hi Tom,

I have no experience with the CT70/CT90's. I'm not familar with their wiring diagrams.
