Motorcycle Repair: turn signal stem replacement, honda motorcycles, license plate bracket

what must be removed to get to the elec wires
to disconnect them.

Sign up, log in, choose HONDA MOTORCYCLES, then CMX250, then 1986 and then TURNSIGNALS.  You can see that the stems are just retained by a nut on the inside of the fender, as I recall, the two wires must be disconnected from the rear harness, so you can withdraw the light assy with the wires, first. Then remove and replace the stem assy. You may have to pull the rear seat section off to access the wiring connections. I did this job once, about 3 years ago, but the details are a little hazy now. I think it took about a half hour to do the whole thing. I recall that was a little more difficult than they usually are for a small bike, like that. The rear license plate bracket may be involved, too.
