Car Stereos: speakers in 2001 monte carlo, rear speakers, dash panel

do you have to take the door panels off a 2001 monte carlo to get to the speakers or can that screen cover itself be removed.....AND, can you get the rear speakers out without removing the dash panel..can you remove the covers and get to the screws?

Hi Annette,

If I remember these cars correctly, the grill does come off, but unfortunately, it doesn't provide enough access to get at the screws that hold the speakers in place.

There might be a section of the door panel you can remove instead of the whole panel to get at the speakers, but if not, you'll have to remove the panel.
