Motorcycle Repair: is it worth it, sportser, harly

There is a 1966 harly sportser for sale for 3500 dollars. I runs but runs rough.  Is it worth it.  The gear changer is on the right side and the air filter sticks out about a foot on the right.  The bike is red and kinda ugly but purty at the same time. the motor is 1300 cc but the bike looks little. Do you know anything about this antique looking bike?

Unless there has been alot of motor work the motor is a 900cc, not 1300cc. Running rough could be anything from just a tune up to needing new pistons.
The price is not bad though. In fair condition it is worth about $4000.00
