Motorcycle Repair: 2004 yamaha, yamaha vstar 1100 custom, fuel pump relay

Question
i have a 2004 yamaha vstar 1100 custom. i put on a maxair intake and a new exhaust i also jetted the carbs. now when i try to start it it only runs when the starter buton is press you can throttle it up and it responds like normal but as soon as you let off the button it dies. i changed the fuel pump relay and even installed a dyna 3000 ECU to try to fix it but it's still doing the same thing. the battery is charged and the gas tank is full and petcock is open. i'm at a total loss. i like to think that i'm pretty mechanicly inclined but i just can't figure this out please help.

Answer
Hmmm, u r absolutly sure this is a carbed bike?  If so, then i must ask, How did u jet the carbs, and y does it have a ECU?  New jets, or did u drill the old jets?  DO NOT use your starter 2 power the bike anymore as this will burn it up very fast.  It sounds like a fuel issue, I just need 2 know about the jetting.  Oh, how much higher did u jet it?
