have you ever repalced the brearings in a harley steering colum? if so what is it a hard task. you could provide some feedback.

i need to reaplace the bearing in the steering colum to pass inspection. is is a hard t0ask. i am mechanical inclined and need to know if it would 0just be better to let a motorcycle shop repair it for 250 dollars. if it is a do it your self repair, where can i get the instructions for the repair?

The bearings in a harley are timkin tapered roller bearings with races. The front end has to be removed and the races pulled out and replaced. Then the bearings are installed.
the problem is I dont know what kind of bearings you have. You might not have tapper bearings. You might have sealed bearings that have to be pressed in.
