Motorcycle Repair: 2001 Sportster custom, open throttle, fuses

I purchased the bike about two weeks ago. It ran fine until now. I went to start the bike today and it started but was running ruff. It then died and it would not start again. I checked for fire, it's there, and I have fuel to the carb, atleast when I open the throttle. It has a new battery and I don't know what to check next. Do you have any advice?

you cant rule out the carb if youre only getting gas at open throttle what about low throttle
how much have you ran it in the two weeks?
bad gas? couldve had old gas,.etc
does it crank over good? have you checked voes if you have one ..circiut breakers or fuses..
