Motorcycle Repair: yamaha fz1, yamaha fz1, minor cosmetic damage

Question
Hi Chris! short question.
Due to incompetance(mine) while washing my 03 fz1 the bike slipped out of my hands and fell on the right side on a concrete side walk.(OUCH) other than some minor cosmetic damage I swear that there is now something out of alignment on the front end. Im thinking the triple tree has been bent. when looking at it from above its hard to notice but Im sure something is torqued and not perfectly straight anymore. Do you have any ideas on how I can set up a "chalk line" to check to be sure everything is lined up square?
there is definetly a bend someplace but I just cant locate where its out of alignment.
Replacing the front end is a bit extreme and very costly.

Answer
Hi Kevin.

Most likely, you just have the triple-tree torqued out of whack.  It just requires you to slightly loosen the trile-tree and straighten it out and retighten everything.

The detailed instructions should be in the repair manual.

Good luck and ride safe.
