Motorcycle Repair: Bogging out, sport bikes, interuption

Question
When bike is cool it runs perfect but as it gets hot it bogs out and engine dies. When engine dies or bogs out i have to wait until it cools down to get it running. The spark plugs are new and they are gapped right have not been fouling out or flooding. Fuel filter and fuel lines are good. motorcycle has four carbs, condition unknown i have not opened them up. As for fuel pump i dont believe it has one. Do you think that it can be the carbs the coils

Question -
i have a 1992 GSXR 1100 oil cooled. When engine gets warm / hot it starts bogging out or dies out especially on the freeway. I've had the bike for about a year and it just started happening. please help me pin point so that i can get it serviced.

Answer -
Hi Rich.

What else can you tell me about the problem?  Have the plugs been fouling out?  What about the carbs?  What about the fuel system?  is there anything that could be causing an interuption of fuel flow?  Does your bike have a fuel pump (many of the sport bikes do)?  If so, then it could be going bad as well.

Any other symptoms that you can tell me would help.

Good luck and ride safe.

Answer
Hi Rich.

All things considered, it could be the coils, but in order to be certain, you need to test them as per the test proceedures in the repair manual.

As far as the carbs, I doubt that the problem is related to the carbs, based on the symptoms that you have told me.

You may also want to have the CDI checked out as a possibility.

Let me know what you find.

Good luck and ride safe.
