Motorcycle Repair: Throttle Cables, throttle cables, honda model

Question
I have a 1981 Honda CM400E.  I can not for the life of me figure out how to remove the throttle cable.  I can't fit my hand where the cable meets the throttle.  The cables have both frozen up and need to be replaced.

Answer
Hi John,

The best advice I can offer is to get a copy of the Service Manual. The manual has illustrated procedures for this and other maintenance and repairs.

"...I can't fit my hand where the cable meets the throttle."

Remove cables from the carburetors first, and then disassemble the throttle housing assy. and cables at that end.

Respectfully,
Mark Shively
