Motorcycle Repair: 95 HD Ultra Classic, fuel pumps, fuel pump

Hey Mike,

When I turn switch on, and the fuel pump charges with a buzzer and then shuts off. However when I start up it seems the buzzer stays on. Not always, but sometimes, does this mean fuel pump going out, or is the buzzer stuck.

It only happens once in a while and then stops for awhile.

I'm about half deaf anyway, but it doesn't seem right. Can you please enlighten me.

That buzzing you are hearing is the fuel pump pumping up and putting pressure on the system. When the bike is running the fuel pumps also. If the buzzing is really loud then the fuel pump might be getting ready to go out.
