Motorcycle Repair: Honda Shadow 600 Exhaust, honda shadow 600, inspection mirror

I am trying to get the exhaust off of my Honda shadow 600 and i took the bolts off but cant get the heat shield off.  it seems to be on with something uner the heat shield.  Any ideas on how it comes off?

Most often, the heat shields are held on either by directly bolting to the motor or are held on by clamps.

 You may need to get a view of them with an inspection mirror to see exacly how they are held on and what tool you will need for them.  If you don't have one, an inspection mirror can be had for just a couple of dollars at any auto parts store.
