Motorcycle Repair: Carb Adjustments, honda cb750k, adjustment screws

Question
Hey Chris
I have an old (1977) Honda CB750K that takes an awfully long time for the engine to warm up.
From the time I crank it,until it will run smooth without having to play with the choke,is usually about 5 minutes or more.
I am pretty sure that it is a mixture adjustment that is needed, but for the life of me I can not find the adjustment screws.
Plugs and points are new and timing is exactly where it should be.Air filter is clean also.
I can not find anything in my manual on this.
Any help you can give me will be appreciated.
 thanks

Answer
Hi Dick.

DO NOT CHANGE THE MIXTURE.  The mixture screws are sealed under press fit caps and the mixture was set at the factory using very sensitive adjustment equipment.  If you don't have the same kind of equipment, then do not attempt to adjust the mixture.  It will only make things worse.

I have had a '78 CB series bike and 5 minutes sounds about right to be fully warmed up.

Good luck and ride safe.
