Motorcycle Repair: oil change, warm weather, dipstick

Question
hello mike ,i have a 2005 883custom sportster and want to know the basic oil change .also what type of weight is recomeded for the weather here in texas in cold and warm weather.i usually take it to service but want to save alittle money.i have 3500 miles on it also.i really appreciate your comments

Answer
First, warm the bike up. Now remove the oil filter and install a new one. Make sure you put a little oil on the gasket of the filter so it wont pinch. Now drain the oil from the tank. there will be a hose under the bike for draining. Put in the new oil to the mark on the dipstick with the bike sitting upright. use 20w50 in your bike. Its a all weather oil for harleys.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
