Motorcycle Repair: harley cases, oil pressure sender, style frame

Question
hi mike,
need your help again, here's the scoop;
i have a custom that i made out of a 90 fxsts, i put in a cam, bored 5 over, s&s heads, etc.
anyway the case has a crack in it, where the oil pressure sender screws in, it was manageable for years, but it's just got to be too much, jb weld will only do so much.  i had a guy try to weld the sucker and it didn't take, the way i see it, i have three options;
1. whole new motor, downside:$$$$$$$
2. new cases, cheaper, but a labor intensive
3. get the old cases split and welded and machined by a pro, cheapest.
my first question is what are the differences between pre and post 92 cases, i can get a set of 92 cases cheep, but then i'll have to make my case breather a head breather and i don't know what else. will all the top end stuff just bolt right on?  will it bolt right into a pre 92 style frame?  will it fit up with the primary?
i'm sure i'm not the only person this has happened to, any guidance?
thanks (again)
mike

Answer
The two cases breather different. Also the oil pump is different on the two cases. So I expect you will spend more money on trying the get hte different cases.
If you are interested, I repair cases all the time and the cost is not that high. If you dont have the knowledge or the tools the tear the motor apart I can do that for you too.
