Motorcycle Repair: rusty gas tank, sportster sport, rust problem

Hi Mike, I was wondering if there is anything I can do to prevent rust from forming in my gas tank. I herd there is a spray you can use when the tank is empty but I dont know the name? I own a 1999 Sportster Sport all stock...Thanks

Your tank should have come from the factory sealed. If you are getting a rust problem the best solution I have found is remove the tanka nd take it to a radiator shop. They can clean it and put in a industrial coating the will stop the problem. Check your local yellow pages for one that is close to you.
