Motorcycle Repair: Fuel tank replacement 85 Honda Goldwing, bill silver, fuel tank

Question
I have a 85 Honda Goldwing that has not run for about 7 years.  Finally gas prices have driven me into repair business I am not at all good at.  I have found a bad fuel pump but know I need to drain, clean, and coat the tank.  Looking at the tank it looks like I will either have to pull the engine or rear end!  Do you have any information on the best way to pull the tank.

Thank You in Advance

Try some Yamaha Fuel tank cleaner if you are able to access the draining of the tank in some way.

POR-15 is a highly regarded product... once you get the tank out.

Get a Clymer's manual or go to www.helminc.com for factory info.
