Motorcycle Repair: Excessive smioke Overfilled oil, gas additives, suzuki intruder

Question
I did an oil change and put way too much oil. I now have excessive smoke and oil has been sucked up into my airfilter and hoses, and more than likely into my carberator.  Please tell me how I can get the oil from the air lines, clean the carb, and what can be used to clean the oil buildup in my exhaust.   Thank You Very Much.

PS  My bike is a Suzuki Intruder LC1500

Answer
Hi Jack,

I recommend getting a copy of the service manual for all maintence and repairs.

Clean the airbox, filter and airbox fluid drain tube.

Avoid spraying chemicals into the airbox or carburetors. Many cleaners and gas additives will harm MC carburetor (rubber) parts. Instead, clean carbs by hand with approved carb spray cleaners.

I'm not sure how to remove oil from the exhaust pipes. Maybe Acetone would work. Acetone cuts grease and oil well. It evaporates quickly and leaves no oily residue.

I return repair and test information (carb cleaning) via email. There was no email address with question as requested in my instructions.
