Motorcycle Repair: blowing oil, breather tube, flhs

hey mike,
got my bike up and running today after about a year of sitting.
all went well and then i starting blowing oil out of my breather
into the air cleaner its pumping it out pretty good, any ideas on
how to fix this problem...thanks a lot for the help

What has happened is whent he bike sits like that, for a long period of time, oil collects in the bottom end of the motor sometimes. Your oil pump has a ball check valve that keeps oil from rinning into the motor when the bike sits. SOmetimes the oil weeps by. When you start the bike, the oil cant be pumped out fast enough by the oil pump and it comes out the breather tube into the air filter housing. If you let the bike run for a few minutes it will clear itself out.
