Motorcycle Repair: starting up a bike that has been sitting, honda cb750, harleys

Question
I've got a 92 Honda CB750 that has been sitting in my garage for going on two years now. I just had it repainted and I'm going to try and start her up...any suggestions on what I should check BEFORE I try and start it? Thanks.

Answer
I usually only answer questions on Harleys, but I think I can help you.
First, make sure you replace the gas. If you get it started, then let it warm up and replace the fluids. With a bike sitting that long, you might have trouble getting it started. the carbs are probably full of dirt and will have to be removed and cleaned.
Good luck and happy riding
