Motorcycle Repair: How to tell if a bike is a California Model, suzuki katana 600, 1993 suzuki katana 600

How can I tell if a bike is a California Model?  I bought two parts bikes that are 1992 and 1993 suzuki katana 600 gsx that I'm looking to put together and rape parts from to make a serviceable bike, The 93 is in great shape but needs a few parts, the 92 is useable for parts.  The 92 looks like it may be a california model because of the presence of air suction system, and reed valves, the 93 did not have this present.  How can I definatively tell which is a CA model, and will the bike run without the CA model specifications?

Hi John,

Visit "www.bikebandit.com" and view their Suzuki microfiche. Compare the parts with those on the microfiche Cali model.

The clean air system can be modified though it's a Federal violation. Mums the word from me. Check online forums such as www.gixxer.com to learn about the procedure.
