Motorcycle Repair: Shadow wont turn over, honda shadow vlx 600, honda shadow vlx

I have a 1997 Honda Shadow VLX 600 with approx 9000 miles on it.  It has sat in the garage for most of the last two years.  It wouldn't turn over and acted like it was out of gas.  I drained the tank and ran some B-12 cleaner through the lines and put new gas in it and new plugs.  It ran great for about three days and then while I was letting it warm up on the fourth day, it sputtered a little and died and its doing the same thing as before.  I am the third owner and, to my knoweledge, it is entirely stock.

Hi Joe,

The fuel in the float bowls and other fuel components has likely varnished. If so, the carburetors will need thoroughly cleaned to restore proper performance.
