Motorcycle Repair: Fuel/Carb problems???, fuel hose, electronic ignition

I have a 1980 FLT. The bike runs great at low to mid-range but acts like it is running out of fuel on the top end range. I can hold the throttle wide open and it either sputters or does not seem to accelerate. I changed jets to I think a 70 main (S&S Super E) but no help. I checked the valves last night and they were fine and also the intake seals. It is even worse when pulling a hill. Any advice? Thanks.

A few questions. (1) did you just install the carb and this started or has it run fine and then just started? Pull the spark plugs, what color are they? Points or electronic ignition? Discinnect the fuel hose from the carb, do you have a good flow of gas from the tank?
