Motorcycle Repair: Winter storage, local bike shop, msf course

Question
Hello i am considering taking the MSF course in riding a motorcycle and looking to purchase one.
My concern is can there be a way to winterize a bike outdoor since i do not have a garage or a place to store the bike any suggestion would help.

Answer
the problem with storing a bike outside is that it will draw moisture from the temp changes outside and things will have a tendensy to rust.
Your best solution is to get a storage bag that is out there for bikes. You part the bike on the bag, zip it up inside and and put a moisture wick inside. It draws the moisture not the bike. There are several places that seel these. Check with your local bike shop for one.
I would also remove the battery and put it on a batttery tender to keep it charged. When you are going to store the bike, run the bike and shut off the gas and let it run until the carb goes dry. This keeps the gas from drying out int he carb.
Good luck and happy riding
