Motorcycle Repair: body repair, types of metals, paint spray

Question
What is your take on the repairs of a cruiser? Most bike shops don't earn the 'repair' title when all they do is replace slightly damaged parts. Aren't tanks and fenders composed of the same types of metals that auotmobiles have and that are repaired at body shops everywhere?

Is it just that bike shops usually don't have the capability of doing the work or they really feel that bike parts are not repairable.

Answer
Generally, bike shops dont have a person to do body work due to the fact that most of the time the damage is to great to repair it. usually its cheaper the replace the parts. Also you would need seperate rooms for the repair because of the dust and paint spray. Yes, tanks and fenders are composed of metal, usually thicker that car bodies, but its cheaper to replace that to repair!
Good luck and happy riding
