Motorcycle Repair: FLSTF Poor Rear Brake Pedal, spongy brakes, rear tire

Question
2000 FLSTF - Had a rear tire changed and the result was spongy brakes.  Since there are no adjustments for the rear brake, how do you compensate for more travel.  The lines were never broken when the calipers were removed, so I would suspect no air in the lines.  Just to be safe, I bled them anyway.  The same result - more travel in the foot pedal.  As the pedal is depressed several times the brakes come back up to normal, but when the bike is stopped or backed up, the same problem re-appears (more brake pedal travel (1 1/2") The dealer is suggesting that I may have a warped rotor, however this problem did not exist before the tire was changed.  I've heard switching to a floating rotor can fix this problem, since in 2000 both the rotor and caliper are fixed (rather than floating)Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
A floating rotor will not help. A warped rotor will not cause the above problem. Keep bleeding the brakes. You have air still in the line. The dealer probably pushed open the pads to get the rotor back on. Air in the lines takes a long time to get out, due to the fact the brake lind and hole in the master cylinder is small.
Good luck and happy riding
