Motorcycle Repair: Throttle cable replacement, bike bandit, kx 85

Question
I replaced the throttle cable on sons 2004 kx-85, the carb end of the cable goes into the top of the carb thru the spring and locks into the white plastic cup, the white cup slides into the slide piece where the needle sits in,, does the white cup that is locking the cable end just sit in the slide on top of the needle? feels like i have taken all slack out of cable but have to move throttle 1/4 turn before carb sounds like it gets gas,,1st time doing this can you tell?

Answer
Hi George,

The cup rests there. Try adjusting excess throttle cable slack at both ends of the cable.

See microfiche parts here: "www.buykawasaki.com" or "www.bikebandit.com"

Once Kawasaki's site opens, click green text "Vehicle Information" from the menu, and then "View Parts Diagram" from the menu. A new page opens, select "Motorcycle" from the menu, (or enter your VIN for the “history” of your MC). Select the year, make and model from the menus that follow.

With Bike Bandit, click "OEM Parts" and then select your MC from the menus that follow.
