Motorcycle Repair: Learning about my bike..., honda cb, thread level

Question
Learning all the basics...Just bought a 1980 honda cb 750c that runs great, but can't find owners manual.  Just want some basics at the moment.  How much oil will I require for an oil change, and what should the visual level on the cap/dipstick be?  And should I get the reading with the cap screwed on, or just resting at the thread level?  Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
Hi Tresa,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Add about 3.5 quarts to start and check oil level with MC on centerstand, and on level ground. Add additional oil until oil level is up to the upper mark on the dipstick. Dipstick is rested upon threads for checking oil level.
