Motorcycle Repair: poor running, cbr250, seasonal storage

Question
hey chris ive been trying to get a CBR250 to run smoothly but it keeps getting the same problem.it'sgot a hard start &sounds funny.when on the road it seems to stall and overheat.

Answer
Hi Ken.
Start by checking your wiring for shorts and coils against what the specs read for them.  Then check the carbs.  If the bike spends any time in seasonal storage, then the carbs need to be properly cleaned and then synchronized.  That covers the hard start, funny sound and stalling.

As far as the overheating, you may want to flush the engine and cooling system.  Replace the oil and filter if they are overdue as per the specs in the manual.  Make sure that the coolant is the correct type and mixed correctly.  Drain and replace it if you need to.

Good luck.
