Answer
Hi Rick,

FYI: Up to 1 qt. of oil per 1000 miles is considered normal for some larger displacement engine models from Suzuki. With respect to your environment and climate variables, try a heavier oil 20W40. Read the oil label for climate application chart.

Some oil in the airbox is normal, too. Combustion blow-by gasses cause a positive crankcase pressure which may send oil up vent to airbox. Keep the airbox drain unobstructed and drained.

Try a cylinder compression check and if necessary, a leak-down test. These simple tests will tell condition of engine (combustion chamber's sealing properties). Compare test readings with factory service limits (specs) found in the repair /service manual.

Otherwise, I don't see a problem or question here. Is the engine running well? If not, describe the appearance of the spark plugs. Also, provide more details and an email address to return information files.

Respectfully,
