Motorcycle Repair: Evo Hop Up, roller rockers, cam lobe

Question
1990 FLHTC 57K miles
I bought the Edelbrock Performer kit. It includes heads, pistons, cam, push rods and all the gaskets. I also bought a Mikuni 42 kit and S&S lifters and S&S roller rockers. Ok, I think that is all the stuff I bought. I have done a lot of the maintenance on the bike and I enjoy getting into it. I am concerned about replacing the cam. I was told because the current cam Andrews EV27 is going to be switched with the Edelbrock cam which has a 600 lift that I will need to make some internal adjustment. I was told the cases will need to be cut for clearance of the new cam. I'm not sure on cutting the case and what else I need to do.

Answer
you will not have to cut the case on the .600' lift cam. but check it anyway. Install cam and make sure when you spin the cam that the rear cam lobe clears the engine case.
if you were looking for preformance then you might want to return the edelbrock performance kit. It is only good for about 10 to 12 horse power. I removed more of them kits then any other kit on the market.   Johnny
