Hi there,
we have a customer with the above twin cam Harley.  Came in for a 1550 kit and cam.  Before we did the job, we ran it on our 250 dyno and at a constant throttle position (low rpm or high rpm) we found it had a "mis fire"...

We did the job, also installed a Power Commander and figured we would be able to remove the "mis fire" with the Power Commander.  The bike has done 500 miles and still has the "mis fire".

Here's what we have tried so far:
- it is not spark or ignition related
- with a 20% load and constant throttle , the miss is there.  Increasing the load to 40% - the miss goes away.
- made sure no "fuzz" on the crank positioning sensor
- checked for air intake leaks on the injectors and sensors and manifold
Really hope you can help!

what exhaust system are you running on this bike?. and what cams?. gear drive or chain drive?. What ignition?.  Johnny  602-705-7474

It has a screaming eagle exhaust system on it.  It had a stock Harley cam in it before we put the 1550 kit in it (when it still had the mis fire), now we put a Headquarter Hurricane cam in it.  When we put the cam & the 1550 kit in it, we put an S & S 4 gear cam drive kit in it.  It has the stock Harley ignition in it with a stage 1 kit (he had this done when he put the screaming eagle pipes on it).
Many thanks indeed for your help.  Barb

Answer
I would change the exhaust system to a exhaust system that works. Install White Brothers E-Series 2 into 1 exhaust system and the mis-fire will be gone after you retune it on your 250 dyno. Exhaust are very critical componint in tuning A bike correctly.  Johnny
