Motorcycle Repair: Suzuki DR250S 1993, suzuki dr250s, battery circuit

Question
I recently replaced the battery on the above bike and now it won't start.  The bike will start if I push start it.  I took off the starter motor and tested it and it works fine. The voltage of the battery is normal and as far as I can tell everything else seems to be functioning.  When the bike is running I checked the kickstand switch and the kill engine switch and the both appear to function.  Any ideas?
Thanks

Answer
Hi Todd,

Start by tracing voltage from the battery thru the starting circuit. May need the service manual to see the wiring diagram.

Circuit includes the starter button, kill switch, tether kill switch (if any), battery, circuit protection (fuses), starter motor, starter selonid, and ignition switch (if any).

Use a 12 volt tester to trace voltage. Try this and advise. We can go from there. Reply to my email: mshively1@woh.rr.com
