Motorcycle Repair: stater, starter problem, hotmail

I have resently gotten a 1983 Virgo 920, it starts but when i try to start it it sounds like it not lineing up with the starter. It turns over ansd starts half the time, but the other half it turns over then lets go and sounds bad, or has rocks in it. It also has been sitting for about two years and how would i go about cleaning the carbs out so it will run better?

Hi Jeff,

The starter problem is common with Virago's and there's a fix.

The carburetors will need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned to remove varnishing and to restore proper performance.
