Hi Mark, Thanks for reading my question.. I have a 1970 Honda CT70 (trail 70). I have been in the process of restoring the bike, I purchased a Chinese "Zongchen" 12 volt 125cc motor off of a guy on ebay, these little motors are popular. The motor came with everything I need to hook it up but I'm getting confused by what goes where. Since the stock CT70 is a 6volt system and the new motor is a 12volt system I'm having trouble getting a spark. What are the basics to getting a spark out of a cdi 12volt system?  I have a fresh 12volt battery installed...

Hi Dan,

This is not my expertise, but I find the performance hop-up interesting.

Did you get the wiring harness and electrics with the newly purchased engine? If not, the CDI is a 6 volt component and will not work. If so, I'm not sure what to advise because I'm not familar with the engine design, etc.
