Motorcycle Repair: Suzuki Stator, suzuki rm80, fly wheel

Chris;                                            I have a Suzuki RM80 that seems to have an oddball stator.it has 3 mounting holes as oppossed to 2.Bought as a basket case[no stator]My question,what year did they change from 2-3?The backing plate from my early 70's MT50 fits but not the fly wheel.Any idea where I might find info on Suzuki models from the 70's+80's?I have 4 Suzuki dirtbikes.        Thanks,Greg

Hi Greg.
 I have no idea when the change was made, but I can say that the dealership should be able to point you in the right direction for info on the bike (try to talk to the mechanics there, they would know).  Also there are a number of e-groups on Yahoo that have brand and model specific topics.  Do a search there and you will find someone there that can probably answer very specific datat on your bike.

And finally, you can order the repair manual for the bike and it will have a huge amount of data on the bike as well.
