Motorcycle Repair: 1996 Nighthawk front brake, fork oil, specialized tools

Question
There is brake fluid coming out of the front fork.  I think the o-ring might need to be replaced.  Does this sound possible and if so is this just a minor thing.  I am just trying to get an idea what to expect before I take it in to be looked at.  Or maybe if it is a realy minor fix, I might try and tackle it myself

Answer
Hi Andy.
If it is coming out of the forks, then it is fork oil, not brake fluid.  That only means one thing.  You need to rebuild the front forks.
If you do not have the specialized tools for the job and have never done the job before, then just take it to a shop to have it done.  It will be easier and will take away from less riding time than doing it yourself in that case.

Good luck.
