Motorcycle Repair: PRIMARY CHAINS ON 800 VULCAN CLASSICS, clutch side, clutch adjustment

Question
I HAVE A NOISE ON THE CLUTCH SIDE OF MY VULCAN.I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS A ADJUSTMENT FOR IT?I CAN LET THE CLUTCH OUT A LITTLE BIT AND THE NOISE STOPS.CAN THE PRIMARY CHAIN BE ADJUSTED? THE BIKE HAS ONLY 9,000 MILES ON IT, AND I DO NOT RUN IT HARD ENOUGHT TO HURT IT.GOT ANY IDEA WHAT IT MIGHT COST TO FIX IT? THANK YOU.

Answer
Hi Stan,

There is no adjustment for the primary chain. I suspect the noise is caused by clutch wear or clutch adjustment. Try adjusting the clutch cable and listen for the noise.

Send me an email address as requested. I'll return repair info files that may assist you.
