Motorcycle Repair: After an inproper winter storage, vance hines exhaust, yamaha 600r

Question
Ok, i told my mom that i needed to do some things to my bike before i stored it for the winter but she woulnd't listen and said that it would be fine, she was wrong. I am 18 and this is my first bike. It has been dropped once with minor damage to the left side just cosmetics and a small weld over the cap on that side.It is a 1999 yamaha 600R with about 9000 miles on it.It was jetted when i bought it but i am not sure if it is full?, i know it is a vance hines exhaust sytem. My problem is that it won't start or even kick over. It has been sitting for about 3months without running because i have been unable to get it going. How do i get my bike to run well enough to get it into the shop. Thanks for the help Mark. I appreciate it.

Answer
Hi Matt,

The carbs may be varnished from fuel gone bad during storage. This is very common and requires the carburetors to be removed and cleaned. This must be performed by a professional tech.

Contact your local Yamaha shop. Around my area service rate for carb cleaning averages about $250, includes synchronizing.

Respectfully,
