Motorcycle Repair: engine is racing, throttle line, kx 125

Question
i have a 83 kx 125 and after the winter the throttle cable was frozen so i fixed it but now i cant get the engine to stop racing. i checked the throttle line 3 times to make sure there were no kinks or any thing to prevent the throttle from going free. with the adjustment on the carb all the way out it still races. Any suggestions? thanks for your time, sincerely kyle johnson.

Answer
Hi Kyle,
Does the throttle turn easily as if it were new?

Does the engine race from the instant it starts?

Is the throttle slide installed properly?

Is the carburettor installed sucurely?

I suspect an air leak is causing the racing idle.
