Motorcycle Repair: 1999 xr70 dirt bike, dirt bike, compression ring

I just put new rings in this dirt bike.i dont know
how to set the timing chain.the bike wont start.
any ideas

Hi Mark,

Buy the service manual. It has all the information necessary to complete the task.

Does the crankshaft rotate?
Does the cylinder have compression?
Is the cylinder getting spark and fuel?
Are the rings installed with the printed sides up, gaps staggered, and compression ring on top?

I cannot be of much help because I cannot be there to do the measuring and diagnosis.
