Motorcycle Repair: Reeds in a two cycle, honda cr250, reed valves

I have a 1976 (I think this is the year)Honda CR250 is this motor suppose to have reeds?

 I'm no to sure with that model however, alot of early 2-strokes did not use the "modern" reed valve.  Best I can guess without a parts dept. looking it up on the microfische or CD rom is they didn't.  At least this is what the link below is leading me to belive.  The "Elsie" was a very good and popular engine and it appears they didn't start to use reed valve technology until 1978.
