Motorcycle Repair: shifting, yamaha fzr600, stripdown

I have a 1991 Yamaha fzr600.When you shift it into any gear the neutral light goes out and it feels like its clicking into gear but wont go anywhere when you release the clutch.Would you have any suggestions as what I can check?Thanks

Sorry Steve, strictly Meriden Triumph I'm afraid.
But if it feels like it's clicking into gear...it probably is...So, this means that either your chain has snapped!Or that the drive isn't getting from the gearbox to the engine sprocket, which tends to make you think of a snapped mainshaft, either way I think you have a gearbox stripdown in prospect.
