Nissan Repair: 1999Maxima airbag sensor, airbag sensor, nissan dealer

My 1999 Nissans airbag sensor flashes the bags have not deployed how can I replace the sensor and where is it located also check engine light stays on but runs fine,and Abs light is also on any sugesttons had to Nissan dealer fixed airbag light a coulpe weeks later came back on

Hi Phyllis -

The first step is to diagnose the check engine light (CEL). Take it to Autozone (they check it for free I think) and get the code(s). If you let me know what they are, I can tell you what it means. All your issues could be related.

Sometimes the air bag light flashes because the seat sensor is diabled. This sensor tells the system that someoone is sitting in the front seat so it activates the air bag during collision. The connector is under the seat. Might want to check to see if it is still connected.
